Family Portrait Session...Thousand Oaks

Little Timmy is the perfect age for capturing that contagious smile! We went to a park and saw ducks and played in the leaves. At the end of the session I kept thinking I should have brought Joey---these two little nuggets would have had so much fun together.

Engagement Session at Firestone Winery...

It was so peaceful up at Firestone in Santa Ynez on Sunday morning...no one in sight--made it really easy to capture these two love birds relaxed! If you are considering an engagement session please contact us soon-- sessions are 50% off during September and 25% off in October. Hey, these could make great save-the -date cards or combine your save-the-date and your Christmas card and save a stamp! For more information about engagement sessions email info@katiemoos.com.

Sara + Michael

This is my sister and her fiance Michael. I went out to New Jersey to visit my sister and to help her pick out her wedding dress. It was also the perfect time to capture some engagement pics. They are planning to marry in Minnesota on January 5th.

Senior portraits + Portraits of Sisters...

I had a total blast with Christine and Nicole. They were both in town for just 4 days before Nicole went back to college and Christine back to school. It was a great time to capture the girls together and take Christine's senior portraits. We started at the beach and ended up at the Santa Barbara Historical Museum.

Family Portrait Session...Thousand Oaks

This is Norman, Debra and Canaan and they are missionaries from our church and were in town for 6 weeks before heading to Canada to prepare for a missions trip to Guinea. They have an awesome blog that they update like daily with what they are doing and where they are. To check it out go to http://copelandramblings.com.

This is Debra's Mom, Tami, she has written a study of the Bible called Perspective. I am going through it right now and it is just awesome. I am learning so much!

And this is the whole family--good looking group aren't they!

Family Portraits in Santa Barbara on the beach...

This is family portrait time of year. Kids are still out of school, everyone is nice and tan (hopefully not burnt), and you will have plenty of time to order photos for your friends and family in time for the holidays or order those Christmas cards in plenty of time to write personal notes (in my case--just get them in the mail before the last possible moment). So, if you are interested in booking a session please contact us at info@katiemoos.com.

Our portrait sessions usually take about an hour and we are happy to take multiple groupings while we are there....maybe the whole family, just the kids, and some of Mom and Dad together (because we know the last time you had a photo of just the two of you was your wedding day). On location shoots are great for kids- we will shoot the first group--let the kids run around a bit and take a few more. This allows us the opportunity to catch some candid shots of your kids--just being themselves too.

I'm 2 YEARS old!!!

Isn't she the cutest!!! I had a blast watching her just be herself. Kids have the greatest imaginations. At one point she had her sand pale full with water and then collected leaves from the yard and started washing them in the pale as if she were doing dishes or laundry--so cute!

Not your average high school senior portraits...

Doesn't he look like he could be in a band! He was so shy and then once I got him alone in front of the camera and just said nothing---this is what I got. Tons of cool expressions! If you are interested in a one hour portrait session on location give me a call at 805.469.3505...it's SOOoooo much fun!

Below is the family. Ok, all I have to say is-- they look awesome and I would be so happy if I looked like them when Joey was graduating from high school...anyone else agree?

Ventura Art Walk

This was taken last night at the Ventura Art Walk. I showed my work at Cara Mia's boutique on Main Street in Ventura. It was fun, we had this photo station set up to get some fun pics of the people that came by. It's all about great food, music, shops and of course ART! If you have never been--you should check it out. A ton of the downtown shops open their walls and windows to artists and thousands of people walk the streets checking out what they may want to hang in their homes. I highly recommend checking it out. I think they do it like 3 times a year.

Liza + Justin Engaged!

This is Liza and Justin-they are getting married in Santa Barbara this September. Ok so for all the brides who think wedding planning is stressful (which it is)--get this...Liza is graduating from college in May and taking the bar exam in July and then their wedding is just 6 weeks later! And I gotta tell ya- the girl just does NOT look stressed. She has the most contagious smile and laugh. You can't help but smile when you meet her! And Justin--smiler too-and not afraid to just be himself and have a good time. LOVE IT! I am looking forward to their BIG day!

Joey-10 months

This is my son! I haven't posted him in a while so I thought I'd share a few. My favorite part of everyday is going in to pick him up from his crib in the morning or after a nap. Joey usually wakes up and begins to play with his stuffed toys in his bed until I come to get him. It's wonderful because he might be awake at 7am and I'm not really ready till 7:45ish...so he just hangs out and plays. When I go in there he is always soooo excited to see me. I LOVE that!

Maria + Kyle Engaged!

Click on this series to view larger...

Maria and Kyle met over the game of soccer! We started out our shoot at the beach and realized we may very well be blown off the beach--the winds were wild! So we went down town Ventura a few shots in town. Then we finished up on the soccer fields where it all began! It was there that they really loosened up and had fun!

I am looking forward to the wedding later this summer.

MOPS Mommas!

I joined a mommy group (MOPS-Mothers Of Pre-schoolers) when I was pregnant with Joey to get to know other moms. It has been an awesome experience. For anyone out there that is pregnant now--get into a group NOW because once you are in it's easier to stay in but if you have a child and they need to allow the opportunity for you to use childcare there is usually a waiting list. I had the pleasure of speaking earlier this year at a Mops meeting (on how to take better photos of your children). Recently I photographed the leadership while they had their retreat. Above are a few shots from that session. You would laugh if you saw where I took these....in a hallway on the floor, in this tiny courtyard (where there was some serious wind), and in a poorly lit overflow room at a church--but that's my job--making it work under any condition. I am actually really happy with what we got. I gotta say these moms are amazing!!! Talk about drive, heart, compassion, and just a love for the Lord, their children, and life! Great group of women!

Camille- Modern Day Design

This is one of Santa Barbara's great florists- Camille from Modern Day Design. I had the great pleasure of photographing her for her new website. The site is still under construction at this time. I have heard so much about it and it sounds like it is going to be fantastic! Below are some flowers from a wedding Camille worked on...

Michelle + Jean Marie from Cara Mia

This is Jean Marie and Michelle-- they are teaming up to do hair and makeup services for weddings! To get the ball rolling I photographed for them half the day new styles and looks on 5 different girls. Michelle is a makeup artist at Cara Mia's in old town ventura off Main St. and Jean Marie is a hairstylist currently at the Vanity Shop just down the way. These two have a great future working together because they are fun, and full of life, and just the sort of person you want to sit and gab the day away with awhile while they transform you into a total hotty!

Natalie + Henry

These two are so fun! Little piece of trivia here that I think is cool. Henry (the little boy) is also my husbands middle name. And my son Joseph is Natalie's husbands middle name. Isn't that cool! Well, I thought so. Aren't these two precious!

One HOT Mamma!

This is Sonia and Rob and they are expecting little baby Cade in January! We had such a blast shooting together! We started out at the Ventura pier and wound up at their home. I love going to the home because it has a more intimate feel to the photos- they're personal and unique because no one else has your home except you!
