May God bless our soldiers and this great country!

These few shots were taken at the Oxnard Sea Bee Days parade last weekend. It was an emotional visit...As I held my 2 year old son in my arms on the pavement I watched as fighter jets flew overhead and big tanks fired off machine gun blanks while hundreds of men and women marched by my feet...and I cried through the whole thing. I am proud of them for their role in keeping this nation from harms way so that I can play outside with my kid without fear but it pains me that sons and daughters, mothers and fathers are put in a position to use these things in the first place and the reality that some of the people that proudly walked before me that day may die for us....harsh...yikes...I think I am going to loose it again while I type.

We go about our day as we always do and often forget that our country is at war and has been...each day people are put in dangers way...each day they need our prayers...please take one minute right now to pray for the sons and daughters, mothers and fathers serving our country and the families that wait for them to come home. It's what we can do for those who are giving so much for us.

A baby has been born!!!

5 lbs, 15 oz, 18 inches long (and 12 days overdue)

Daddy!

This is the BIG sister and Grandpa.

I was so excited to be asked to photograph a birth!! They were planning on a home birth...however after being 12 days overdue this little baby decided she'd rather make a dramatic entrance at the hospital. She had to have a c section so we weren't able to get the birth photography I think they had in mind but still was able to get some great shots. Look at her!! Isn't she precious!

Family Portrait Session in Montecito

This is so cool! In 2005 I photographed the couple on the far rights wedding and last week I had the great privilege of photographing their family. It's just so neat to see a family as they grow...I love that!

This is their baby! Isn't he precious!!

Ear Infection #6 in one year!

Can you imagine 6 ear infections in one year? Crazyness!! Here's the good part--it's hard to tell he even has one because he doesn't act any different except for he will wake up once in the middle of the night with a sudden cry. I actually thought he had a bad dream but turns out it's his ears. Of the 6--3 have been double's. This is a double! Praise God for antibiotics.

What a fun weekend with friends!

We went to a Valentine's Dinner at El Torito
with our friends from church (CEFC).

At the end of dinner we played "The Newlywed Game"...hysterical! If you have never played this game it's basically a game to see how well you know your spouse.

Believe it or not we had a tie so we had a bonus round and this guy actually new his mother-in-laws birthday! Amazing--talk about breaking down a stereotype.

We watched the Superbowl with friends and ate a LOT!

Now it's Monday and my baby is sick. :( Not a happy camper.

I know this is so wrong...but I had to share...

I love this kid!

I love his feet together and the fact that he has to have a book with him.

I think it's so cute how he tries to shut the door to have his privacy...well, considering where these pics wound up--I guess I can see why. :)

I am so blessed!

Merry Christmas!

Joey and Daddy.

He sees a doggy.
Ok, the photo below was taken this morning as Joey watched a video our day care provider Michelle made for us of photos from this past year of all the kids. He's playing playdough and yelling out the kids names. I love when he says his own name "JOEY!".
We had a very nice and mellow Christmas this year. We went to Christmas Eve service on Monday and then had a couple of friends over for our traditional lasagna dinner. Played a few games--it was really nice! Then Christmas day Nick made a nice big breakfast and we watched Joey open his gifts. He was sort of not sure what to do. It was a great opportunity to practice our thank-yous! After naps we went to the park with Joey---it was really great light and we had the park all to ourselves. We finished off the day with grilled cheese and tomato soup and movie (I love movies---and ice cream!). I hope you had a wonderful day celebrating the Lords birth!

WOW! What an awesome family!

Dave and Judy
Yep, this is the immediate family!!!
Dave, Judy, their kids and their families.
We will also take individual family shots during the same session.
All the grandkids---and there's more on the way! :)
Bubbles=GOOD!
Wow, this sessions was a ton of fun! I know Dave and Judy from church (CEFC). They are our mentor couple for the bible study class we are in. They have 5 kids--they are grown ups now and live all over the place. They were all home for Thanksgiving! So this was the perfect time for a big family photo.

Joey

Love this!!

He's looking at an airplane. I think he thinks it's Michael!
He loves airplanes! Well, I should say he likes to point them
out of the sky---riding them, well that's been a different story.
