Cook for a day...Eat for a month

Friday a few friends from church and I got together to cook 18 meals that will then be frozen so that we will have meals to take out of our freezers, let thaw out, and pop in the oven for dinner each day. People wonder how Mom's do it or people like me with a baby and a business--well this certainly helps. Since the last cook for a day marathon I have lost 2 clothing sizes. I think it has a lot to do with not eating out so much, because I have food ready to go at home, and eating a lot earlier (say 5pm rather than 7-8pm) because the food was ready and I don't have to think- 'What are we having for dinner?' 'Well, let's just go out, where do you want to eat?' and waiting to get a table, to get a menu, and to order. So instead of eating 2-3 hours before bed now I am eating 5-6 hours before bed. Also, I only take one plate of food--so a bit of portion control. The nice part about the whole thing-no calorie counting, the food has cheese, I eat pasta, and all that other yummy food! Anyways, I just wanted to share this with you. If you are feeling overwhelmed with your day and never know what to make for dinner, gather up a group of four and start sharing recipes that freeze well with one another, they also have a ton online for free. You shop together, go to one persons house, cook for 8 hours, then go home with tons of food. Split the bill four ways and save save save!
